Mrs. Mabel Louise Sturgill Shively, 78, of 300 Taylor Road in Stoneville, passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2012 at Morehead Memorial Hospital.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at Stoneville Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Doyle Marley officiating. Interment will follow in Ridge-View Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Shively was born in Pound, Virginia on Oct. 26, 1933, the daughter of Chester Kenneth and Hila Church Sturgill, both deceased. She was retired from E.I. DuPont Company. She was the true matriarch of the entire family. She was the glue that held the family together.

She is survived by her sons, Kenneth Shively and wife Elizabeth and David Shively and wife Sheila, all of Stoneville; her grandchildren, Julie, Neal, Saundra, Christy, LaShawnna, Lucas, Nicole and Delanie; her great grandchildren, Billie Joe, Cody, Jamie, Lucio, Emily, Roberto and Mariana; and her special friends, Eddie Lon Short, Margie Byrd, Margaret Conway and Steve Hancock.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Odis Clifton Shively, her sons, Douglas Clifton Shively, Randall Lewis Shively; and her brothers, Claude Sturgill and Pallmer Sturgill.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at Stoneville Pentecostal Holiness Church and other times at the residence.
