Adell Rakestraw Barker, 85, passed away Friday, December 4, 2020 at Seven Lakes Assisted Living in West End, NC.

A graveside service will be held 2:00PM Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at Shiloh Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

Adell was born in Rockingham County on February 15, 1935 a daughter of Lawson Price Rakestraw, Sr. and Nannie Bolden Rakestraw, both deceased. She was a CNA at Britthaven Nursing Center.

Adell is survived by her children, Donna Barker of Biscoe, NC, and Terry Barker and wife Hazel of Madison; her brother, Paul Rakestraw of Georgia; her sister, Judy Ivey of Madison; her grandson, Terry Barker, II. and wife Mae; and her great grandchildren, Terry Barker, III. and Austin Barker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Francis Barker; her brother, Lawson "Price" Rakestraw, Jr.; her sisters, Alice Wray and Cordell Landreth; and her grandsons, Jeffrey, Bryan and Bradley Bowman.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 1:00 until 1:45PM at Boone & Cooke Funeral Home, before going to the graveside, and other times at the home of Robin & Mike Woods, 1005 Second Street, Eden.

In addition to flowers, the family request donations be made to Oasis Baptist Church, 865 Crowder Road, Madison, NC 27025.
