Angela Renee Carter Newman, 52, of Madison passed away on Monday, January 23, 2023, at UNC Rockingham Health Care.

A service of remembrance will be held at 6 pm Monday, January 30, 2023, at Hampton Heights Baptist Church.  The family will receive friends from 5 until 6 pm at the church before the service and other times at 2217 Duggins Road in Madison.

Angela was born in Rockingham County on January 11, 1971, a daughter of Barbara Holland Hall and the late Willie Edward Carter.  She worked with ITG Lorillard Tobacco.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her sister, Sue Champion; her brother, Randy Carter; and her father-in-law, George Newman.

Angela is survived by her husband Curtis Ray Newman of the home; her children, Justin Newman of Madison, Jessica Newman of Eden and Katie Newman (Charity) of Madison; her mother, Barbara Jean Holland Hall; her siblings, Jonathan Carter of Eden, Jeffrey Carter of Madison, Elaine Carter of Eden; her pride and joy, her grandchild, Axton; her mother-in-law, Linnie Newman; her precious fur baby, Sally Mae; several nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

The family wishes to thank everyone in the UNC Rockingham Health Care ER for taking care of their mother.
