Ashley Nicole “Nikki” Horn Jones passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Moses Cone Hospital.

A celebration of life service will be held at 3 pm, Sunday, July 19, 2026, at Boone and Cooke Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 pm before the service at the funeral home and other times at the home of Betty and Barnie Merritt.

Nikki was born on Monday, March 25, 1985, in Eden to Chris Horn and Donna Merritt. Nikki was a graduate of Dalton McMichael High School and Greensboro College. She was employed at Food Lion in Martinsville. Nikki was a loving mother who was proud of her children. She loved her family and had many friends in the community. She will be missed by so many.

Nikki is predeceased by her grandmother Barbara Horn; her uncles Brad Horn, Dean Horn and Joe Hoover; and her cousin Seth Horn.

Nikki is survived by her parents, Donna Merritt, Chris Horn, and stepmother, Penny Horn; her children, Josie Tongue, Brody Tongue, and Tucker Stewart; her brother, Joshua Watkins; her grandparents Barnie and Betty Merritt, James Horn; her aunts Lou Ann Merritt, Vickie Hoover; her uncles Tony Merritt, Tim Horn; her cousins Jessica Horn, Josh Horn, Wiley Hoover, Dale Horn; and many more cousins and family members.
