Billy Joe Barber, 46, of Reidsville went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 22, 2026, at Wesley Long Hospital.
His going home celebration will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Redemption Road Baptist Church with Pastor Daniel Bray and Pastor Kenneth Bartlett officiating. A dinner in the fellowship hall will follow the service for the family and friends.
Billy was born in Reidsville on December 7, 1979, a son of Linda Fletcher and the late Jessie Wayne Barber. He worked as a CNA. He was an amazingly special son and was the heart of his mother’s heart. He was deeply loved by his brother, Little Wayne and many friends and family.
Billy loved animals and never met a stranger. He had a sweet spirit and was a happy go lucky guy. He was such a handsome man, an amazing dresser and lit up every room he entered. Billy loved his music; it made his heart smile; especially Elvis Presley. Billy loved to sing and had the voice of an angel.
Billy made a profession of faith with our Lord Jesus Christ and enjoyed times in God’s house.
In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his grandchild, Jonah William Blake English; his grandmother, Claudie Chambers Fletcher; his grandfather, Charles Donald Fletcher and his little brother, Baby Keith.
Billy is survived by his son, Zachary English and wife, Caroline; his grandchildren, Charlie Rene English and Rylee Ann English; his mother, Linda Fletcher; his brother, Little Wayne Barber, Jr. and Leslie; his sister, Tammy Barber; his nephews, Christopher Astin, Timothy Pruitt, Andrew Pruitt, Donald Wayne Barber, Jr.; his special niece, Hayley Nicole Barber and her children, “Rye Rye” and “Kenley”; his cousin who was more like a brother, Jesse Lee Barber.
He was loved by all and will truly be missed…Till we meet again Sweet Boy, Always and forever.
