Billy Jefferson Shough, 100, of Eden passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at Ancora Compassionate Care Hospice Home.

A celebration of life service will be held at 6 pm on Monday, January 19, 2026, at Boone & Cooke Funeral Home Chapel.  The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 pm before the service and other times at Kesler's residence.

Billy was born in Eden on October 23, 1925, the son of Kesler Jefferson Shough and Gladys McArthur Shough, both deceased.  He was a World War II Army veteran.  He was a self-employed landscaper and farmer.  He was an avid NASCAR fan of Kyle Larson.  He loved his farm and his cows.  He loved us so very much and there was never a dull moment.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Doris Eggleston Shough and his sisters, Margaret Martin and Louise Shough.

Billy is survived by his son, Kesler Shough (Jennifer) of Eden; his grandchildren, Brittney Shough (Austyn) and Kasey Strawhand (Jacob); his sister, Delores Lemons of Reidsville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Rockingham County Cattlemen's Association.
