Bobby Harold Cates, 78, of Reidsville passed away on Monday, November 23, 2020 at the Hospice Home of Rockingham County.

A graveside service will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at Reidlawn Cemetery in Reidsville.

Bobby was born in Alamance County on October 05, 1942 a son of Arlindo Thomas Cates and Lillie Mae Parrish Cates, both deceased.

He retired from Miller Brewing as a shop steward.

He is survived by his wife, Jewell Ludell Huffman Cates of the home; his daughters, Bobbie Gail Redd of Danville, VA, Tina Ann Cates of Burlington, Deborah Lynn Coleman of Burlington and Karen Ann Dawson of Reidsville; his brothers, Raymond Cates of Burlington, Johnny Cates and wife, Kathy of Burlington and Roger Lynn Cates of Burlington; his grandchildren, Jeffrey Richardson, Rodney Vinson, Christy Cross, Robert Coleman Edwards, Victoria Rogers and husband, Mitchell, Joshua White, Macey Durham and husband, William Hundley, Kaleb Durham and Emily Hodges and several great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his brothers, Reuben Cates and Michael Cates, Sr. and his sister, Linda Thompson.

There will be no formal visitation and the family will only receive friends at the graveside.
