Bobby Dean Meeks, 86, of Eden passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at UNC Rockingham Health Care.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5 until 7 pm Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at Boone & Cooke Funeral Home.  A private graveside service be held later.

Bobby was born in Greensboro on August 3, 1938, a son of Phalis Meeks and Ruth Crismon Meeks, both deceased.  He retired from Fieldcrest Mills and worked for Sam Redmon.  He was a self-proclaimed country singer and a woodworker.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Billy Ray Meeks and his sister, Brenda Meeks Watlington.

Bobby is survived by his wife, Wanda Church Meeks of the home; his children, Tabitha Eggleston of Reidsville, Josh Dean Meeks (Lisa) of Eden, Monroe McKinley Meeks (Missy) of Ridgeway; his sister, Shirley Divers of Martinsville, VA; his grandchildren, Brittany E. Taylor (Kenny), Emilee Eggleston Gantt (Tommy), Deana Meeks and McKinley Meeks;  his great grandchildren, Kinleigh, Bristol, Marlee Rae, Laetyn, Hayes, and Amiya; and his beloved dog, Spooks.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the American Heart Association.
