Edward Booker Hudson, 82, of Eden passed away on Friday, January 7, 2022 at his residence.

A funeral service will be held at 2 pm Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at Boone & Cooke Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will follow in Ridge-View Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 pm Tuesday at the funeral home before the service.

Booker was born in Chatham, VA on February 18, 1939, a son of Perry Taylor Hutson and Lucille Harris Isley, both deceased.  He was retired from Rockingham Realty.  He was a member of the Bee Keepers Association, the Advisory Board of the Draper Fire Dept. and the Cattlemen's Association.  He enjoyed deer hunting, bee keeping and walking his family farm.  He loved spending time with family and friends and his girlfriend, Edith Wyatt.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Dayle Lester Hudson; his brothers, Roy Matthew Hutson and wife Margaret, William David Hutson, Gene Taylor Hutson; his niece, Angie Dawn Meadows; his grandniece, Amber Kingston, his sister-in-law, Judy Lester Meadows; and his brother-in-law, Charles Lester.

Booker is survived by his nieces and nephews, Billie Jo Kingston (Wayne), Kerry Hutson (Lisa), Frank Hutson (Gayle), Carol Moore (Andy), Gail Hutson Proctor, Wayne Hutson (Wendy), Mark Hutson and Donna Wilson (Mark); many great nieces and nephews; his brother-in-law, Bill Meadows (Jamie); his sister-in-law, Betty Hutson; and his best friends, Bob Smith, Lane Coble and Jeff Reynolds.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Hospice of Rockingham County for their excellent care of Booker during his illness.
