Brenda Nelson Searcy, 75, of Eden passed away on January 31, 2025, at Novant Forsyth Medical Center.

A visitation will be held from 6 until 7 pm on Monday, February 3, 2025 at Boone & Cooke Funeral Home Chapel.  There will be a reception for Brenda following the visitation for friends and family at 330 S. Center Street in Eden.

Brenda was born in Eden on March 10, 1949, the daughter of Bertie Kennon Pruitt and the late David Ofus Nelson.  She worked several places in her life including owning her own house cleaning business.

In addition to her father, she was predeceased by her brother, Phillip Wayne Nelson.

Brenda is survived by her son, Donald Searcy (Tina) of Eden; her mother, Bertie Kennon Pruitt of Eden; her brother, David O. Nelson, Jr. of Eden; her sister-in-law, Rhonda Nelson; her grandsons, Joseph and Matthew Searcy; her nieces, Windy Nelson Medley, Jennifer Phillips (Saul) and Jessica Nelson; her nephews, Joseph Tyler Nelson and Phillip Wayne Nelson, Jr. "PJ"; her great niece, Danille Medley and her precious dog, Baby.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Rockingham County Animal Shelter.
