Gone Racing
Don’t cry for me, I still race free,
On a track in a majestic place,
never in back, leading the pack,
a priceless gift of God’s grace.
I’ll remain bold on these streets of gold,
Racing to the checkered flag
and I still smile when I think of the miles,
down our old hometown drag.
And when your journey ends, I’ll see you again,
inside Heaven’s Gates,
and we’ll laugh awhile and go race for miles,
but for now, we’ll have to wait.
When you do get here, listen for cheers,
for the one others are chasing,
along Heaven’s shore, where engines roar,
and smile, for I’ve gone racing.
