Mr. Byron Dale Oakes, 58, of Eden went home to be with the Lord on November 8, 2023, at his residence.

Born in Martinsville, VA, he was the son of David Oakes, Jr. and the late Sylvia Craddock.  Byron loved to fish and work out in the yard.  His family and God meant so much to him.  He loved to sing and spread the word of God to everyone he met.  I know he is in Heaven with his family, walking the streets of gold and rejoicing, no longer suffering.

Mr. Oakes is survived by his father, David Thomas Oakes, Jr.; two daughters, Jessica Oakes of Gaffney, SC and Billi Jo Enos of Loxahatchee, FL; three sisters, Brandi Oakes of Blacksburg, SC, Kimberly Oakes of Fountain In, SC, and Deserae Maybry of Rock Hill, SC; one brother, Tony Oakes of Collinsville, VA; four grandchildren, Bryson Wofford and Braylen Humphries of Gaffney, SC, Madison and Caroline Enos of Florida; nine nieces and nephews, Jordan Oakes, Tay Oakes, Mikey Oakes, Destiny Oakes, Junior Miller, Chris Carpenter, Trinity Houchins, Kirsten Houchins and Ava Oltmans.
