Obituary

Calvin Allen Kennon, was born November 13, 1951, in Eden North Carolina. He was called home to his wife Patricia as a beautiful sunrise crested over the city at 7:30 am on Wednesday January 15, 2025. He spent his last day surrounded by his sisters, children and grandchildren. The angels came down to take him with his sons and their wives handing him over. Calvin was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 40 years Patricia Kennon, his parents Allen & Katie (Hundley) Kennon and his sister Geneve.

He is survived by his brothers Thurman and his wife Linda and Randy, his sisters Sandra and her husband Roger and Rita, his nieces and nephew.  His son Michael and his wife Tonya who Calvin simply adored of Stoneville, NC their sons Garyn and Zack who follow right in their Papas footsteps. Calvin looked forward to their frequent phone calls. His son Jason and his wife Stacey of Connecticut their children Hailey, Megan, Charleigh, Kayla, Tyler, Julia, Reese and Anthony and his great grandchildren Jack, Scout and Micah. His stepdaughter Wendy Greeson of Randleman who he called his daughter and the households three dogs, Cooper (Red dog), Little Bit and Emme. The friends he made throughout his life brought him so much happiness.

Calvin grew up in Eden North Carolina where he went on to be a master plumber. He and his good friend Eddie started Crawfords plumbing where he worked for many years. He later went on to open a bar- Calvin's Cantina, which was in true Calvin style- legendary! He moved to Greensboro where he joined AC corporation and later retired. Upon his retirement he was able to relax and dig into the love he had for building gun barrels and chokes. He quickly became known as one of the best around and the Super Shoots/Turkey Shoots would all be wondering what it is in Kennon's barrels that made them win time and time again. Calvin was good at everything he did. He enjoyed playing slots, frequenting the Poker House (recently he tried to convince his son Jason and Daughter in law Stacey to open one at the house), hunting, fishing, Monday Night Raw, Nascar, and anything to do with his boys. He raved to anyone he talked to about what the boys were up to and how proud he was to be their dad.

We know a soul as full of love, kindness, knowledge and skill as Calvin would never actually leave his family, and we find some peace in knowing we were lucky enough to have him in our life, at whatever capacity that was. Calvin made our lives full of laughter and love and his legacy will continue.

We know he is up there sitting at the Poker House with Patricia drinking a Bud Light and smoking a cigarette, telling her about their sons being best friends, their grandchildren's new happenings and Jason's wedding.
