Carlton Edward Stewart, 84, of Eden passed away on Friday, February 14, 2025, at the Hospice Home in Rockingham County.

A graveside service will be held on February 18, 2025, at 2 pm at Dan View Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service from 1 until 1:30 pm at Boone and Cooke Funeral Home before processing to the graveside.

Carlton was born in Rockingham County on August 6, 1940, a son of Harry Samuel Stewart and Odessa Hankins Stewart, both deceased. He worked as a manager for Kmart.

He is survived by his nieces, Linda Sherlin and husband, Jack Hord of Gastonia, NC and Carol Possey and husband, Phil of Little River, SC, and his nephews, Mike Cain of Eden and Sam Pruitt and wife, Denise of Belmont, NC; and his great nephews, Clay Cain.

In addition to his parents, Carlton was predeceased by his sisters, Althea Pruitt, Ruby Blackwell and Betty Jordan and his brother, Hurbert Stewart.
