Carol Young Slayton, 82, of Eden passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at the Gibson House in Rockingham County.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, January 16, 2023, at 2pm at Dan View Cemetery.

Carol was born in Eden on April 23, 1940, the daughter of Dudley Washington Young and Camilla Plott Young, both deceased. She retired from Dupont.

She is survived by her sons, William "Carl" Slayton, Jr. and wife, Jeanne of Reidsville, and Lindsey Slayton of Greensboro; her brothers, Edward "Butch" Young of Texas, and Douglas "Mack" Young of New Jersey; her grandchildren, Scott Slayton, Michael Slayton, Tyler Slayton, Benjamin Vale, Olivia Slayton and Tanner Slayton; and her great grandchildren, Bentley, Victoria and James.

In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her husband, William Carl Slayton, Sr.; and her brother, Harold Young.
