Carol Jean Key Strickler, 74, of Eden passed away on Friday, March 12, 2021 at Moses Cone Hospital.

A memorial service will be held at 3 pm on Sunday, March 28, 2021 at Eden Baptist Church.

Carol was born in Mt. Airy on August 29, 1946, a daughter of James Louis Key and Martha Brooks Key, both deceased.  She was retired from Walmart and had also worked for Fieldcrest Mills.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles William Strickler and her siblings, Mary Cardwell and Sammy Key.

Carol is survived by her children, Dorothy S. Jefferson, Patricia A. Strickler and Kenya Thompson, all of Eden; her siblings, Freda Stacey (Jessie) of Collinsville, VA, Jimmy Key of Rocky Mount, Becky Davis (Bill) of Henry, VA, Darlene Gravely (Joe) of Bassett, VA, Dorothy Hodges (John) of Rocky Mount, Donny Key of Bassett, VA; her grandchildren, Ashley Jefferson, Cristal Jefferson, April Dawn Windsor, Samantha Yeatts, Angel Carolann Jefferson, Savannah Yeatts; and her great grandchildren, Korina and Korissa Smith.
