Claude Lee Shockley, 83, of Eden passed away on Friday, February 4, 2022 at his residence.

To honor Mr. Shockley's wishes, there will be no services.

Claude was born in Rockingham County on February 20, 1938, a son of Herbert Edwin Shockley and Bessie Williams Shockley, both deceased.  He was retired from American Tobacco Company where he worked as an HVAC Technician.  He was the best husband, father, and Papa anyone would have ever wanted.  He never had a bad word to say about anyone.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Elaine Scott and his brothers, Thurman Shockley and Turner Shockley.

Claude is survived by his wife of 66 years, R. Geraldine Shockley; his daughter, Teresa Gray; his son, Timothy Claude Shockley and wife Dawn; his siblings, Aaron Shockley, Galen Shockley and wife Kitty, Roger Dale Shockley, Jimmy Shockley and wife Joyce, Hilda Jones; his grandchild, Devon Gray; his great grandchild, Hollyn Gray; his extra special friends, Joe Craig, Fred and Madeline Hopkins; and his special dog, Malachi.
