Danny Lee Overby, 61, of Eden, passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at Annie Penn Memorial Hospital.

A funeral service will be held at 11 am Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at Boone & Cooke, Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Eugene Powell officiating.  Interment will follow in Dan View Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 am at the funeral home before the service and other times at 1708 Fleetwood Avenue in Reidsville.

Danny was born in Eden on June 30, 1962, the son of Mildred Wyatt Overby and the late Freddie Rose Overby.  He was an auto mechanic.

In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his brother, Larry William Overby and his grandparents, Jack and Leona Wyatt.

Danny is survived by his wife, Shirley Powell Overby; his mother, Mildred Overby;  his son, Daniel Wayne Overby; his stepchildren, Sandra Travis (Butch), Jerry Hipps (Glenda) and Steve Hipps; nephew, Kenny Overby and his children, Jacob, Jordan and Braelynn; his grandchildren, Joe HIpps (Tabitha), Troy Hipps, Stephanie Myers (Chris), Steven Hipps (Brittany), Jenna Hipps (Hunter), Amanda Garcia (Frank), Heather Grogan (Travis), Tyler Travis; and his great grandchildren, Travis, Caden, BriAnna, Sadie, Tanner, Urijah, Keira, Corbin, Elizabeth, Kynleigh and Everleigh.
