Mr. Delmer "Del" Ray Dillon, 76, of Eden, passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at UNC Medical Center Chapel Hill.

A funeral service will be held at 1 pm Thursday, June 22, 2023 at Boone & Cooke Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will follow in Ridge-View Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends after the service at the funeral home.

Del was born in Eden on July 7, 1946, the son of James Edgar Dillon and Madeline Earles Dillon, both deceased.  He formerly worked for Fieldcrest Mills and attended Hampton Heights Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Barbara Corum.

Del is survived by his sister, Carolyn Dillon Hargis of Waxhaw, NC; his nephew, Jody Brannock and wife Kristy of Charlotte; and his great nephew, Aaron Brannock.
