Donald H. Keesee, 81, of Eden passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at UNC Rockingham Health Care.
A memorial service will be held at 2 pm Monday, October 18, 2021 at Genesis Community Church, 618 Early Avenue in Eden with the Reverend Bryant Booth officiating.
Donald was born in Lynchburg, Virginia on January 10, 1940, a son of Joseph and Madaline Keesee, both deceased. He was a truck driver, loved to travel and was known as a walking atlas. He had the "gift of gab" and was the best storyteller. He also enjoyed NASCAR.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Tammy Keesee Gilliam, his son-in-law, Walter Dale Gilliam; and his sister, Ann Smith.
Donald is survived by his wife of 28 years, Jo Anne Hodnett of the home; his children, Donald C. Keesee and wife Rebecca of Lynchburg, Stephanie Williams and husband Robbie of Lynchburg, Terri Keesee of Little River, SC, Natalie Hooker and husband Stephen of Eden, Tracie Booth and husband Bryant of Eden, and Cindy Crosby and husband Eddie of Adel, GA; his siblings, Carolyn Young and husband Barney of Danville, VA, Joseph "Tommy" Keesee and wife Linda of Evington, VA, and G.T. McGuire and wife Edrica of Penhook, VA; his grandchildren, Makenzie, Lexi, Clint, Max, Jo Beth, Stephen, Matthew, Mitchell, Jesse, Heather and Michael; and his great grandchildren, Maison, Brynleigh, Emma, Hayden and Tyler.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
