Dwight Eugene "Skip" Cope, 70, of Eden passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at Ancora Compassionate Care Hospice Home.

There will be no services.

Skip was born in Gaston County, NC on September 8, 1954, a son of Delmar Cope and Lavonne Auten McCraney, both deceased.  He was a US Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War.  He was the lead aircraft inspector for Timco.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his stepfather, Howard McCraney.

He is survived by his companion, Beate Player; his daughters, Jessica Player of Eden and Rachel Cope of New York; his siblings, Sandra Hawthorne (Ronnie) of Georgia, Beverly Bryant of Florida, James McCraney (Lynn) of Georgia, Michael McCraney (Lisa) of South Carolina, Terri McCraney-Powell of Statesville; his grandchildren, Haven Fox and Jakob Fox; and several nieces and nephews.
