Eileen Chester Hollifield, 73, of Eden went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Moses Cone Hospital.

A celebration of life and faith will be held at 2 pm Saturday, March 28, 2026, at First Baptist Church of Eden.  The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm Friday, March 27, 2026, at Boone & Cooke Funeral Home and other times at the residence.

Eileen was born on May 10, 1952, in New Brunswick, New Jersey to the late John Chester and Margaret Crosby Chester.  She retired from State Farm Insurance after many years of dedicated service.  A woman of deep and abiding faith, Eileen was a devoted member of First Baptist Church, where she faithfully served on the kitchen committee and supported the church's ministries.  Her life was a reflection of her love for Christ, shown through her kindness, generosity, and servant's heart.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Robert Wayne Hollifield, Sr.; and her brothers, James Chester Sr. and Alexander Chester.

Eileen is survived by her loving children, Robert Hollifield, Jr. (Samantha), Ginger Mabe, and Edward Hollifield (Amber); and her brother, Early Williams.  She was a proud grandmother to Katie, Seth, Gabrielle, Mason, Tristan, Ethan, Owen and Ella; and a cherished great-grandmother to Dallas, Dawson, Easton and Carson.

Eileen will be remembered as a faithful servant of the lord and a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  Her gentle spirit, unwavering faith, and love for others will continue to inspire all who knew her.
