Elder Phillip "Phil" Ray Tucker, 88, passed away early Monday morning, February 12, 2024.
The funeral service will be 2:00PM Thursday, February 15, 2024, at Wilson Primitive Baptist Church in Madison. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service from 1:00PM until 2:00PM. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
A native of Rockingham County, Phil was born in the Shiloh Community on September 15, 1935, to the late Floyd Thomas Tucker, and Nellie Carter Tucker. He served his country in the United States National Guard. He would go on to work as a utility worker for American Tobacco Company and would later retire from Golden Belt Tobacco Company. He was a member of Wilson Primitive Baptist Church and was ordained as an Elder in 2013.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Lou Tucker; his second wife, Gail Hooker Tucker; daughter, Pamela Lynn Talley; siblings, Mary Lou Thore, Frances Page, Doris Tucker Ore, Floyd Junior Tucker, Leonard Elwood Tucker, and Johnny Tucker.
He is survived by his children, Vickie Sue Tucker of Eden, Lori Ann Tucker of Reidsville, Thomas Dean Tucker of Ruffin, and Tony Ray Tucker of Eden; sister, Dorothy Craddock of Stoneville; 10 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, and several great-great grandchildren.
