Elsie Mae Stone Denny, 88, of Eden passed away on Monday, February 20, 2023 at Eden Health and Rehabilitation.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 24, 2023 at Boone & Cooke Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Ridgeview Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 am, 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home, and other times at the home of her daughter, Kathy Dickens, 403 Monroe Street Apt 4E, Eden.

Elsie was born in Reidsville on November 19, 1934, a daughter of Reuben Lee Stone and Edna Dewey Stone, both deceased.

She is survived by her children, Kathy Dickens of Eden, Tina Nelson of Eden, George Denny, and Ralph Denny of Eden; her brothers, Harvey Stone of Reidsville and James Stone; her grandchildren, Brandy Lee and husband, Tim, David Dickens and wife, Crystal, James Curry and wife, Tammy, Ronnie Dickens and wife, Brook, Angela Curry and Mary McCarthy; 13 great grandchildren, and her close friend, Russell Nelson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Houston Denny; her daughter, Melissa Dickens; her sisters, Louise Denny and Lois Childress and her grandchild, Terry Dickens.
