Evelyn Cowan Demson, 68, of Eden passed away Friday, April 12, 2024 at Wesley Long Memorial Hospital.

A memorial service will be held at 2 pm Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Dan River Wesleyan Church. The family will receive friends after the service.

Evelyn was born in Reidsville on June 19, 1955, a daughter of Shirley Garrell Spain and Roy Warnell Cowan, both deceased.  She was a graduate of Wentworth High School, Class of 1973.  She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and especially loved her fur babies.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Christopher Wetherington; her birth father, Ralph Fulcher and her mother-in-law, Peggy Fortney.

Evelyn is survived by her husband James E. Demson of the home; stepdaughter, Lailani Demson of Alpine, CA; her siblings, Eric Cowan and Ronald Cowan, both of Breckenridge, TX, and Beverly Cayton of Durham; her grandchildren, Somer and Cambriah Wetherington; her step granddaughter, Serenity Alward; and her special aunt, Nancy Brammer.
