Frances Shropshire Rakes Gammon, aged 87, of Eden passed away peacefully at her loving daughter and caretaker's (Linda) home on January 24, 2026 surrounded by family who adored her. Her kind heart and steadfast love left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Born in Draper on September 21, 1938, Frances was the daughter of Lonnie and George Shropshire Sr both of whom predeceased her. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church and followed the Christian faith.

Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Roy Gammon; her siblings- George Shropshire Jr, Iva Shropshire, Guy Jack Shropshire, Thomas Shropshire, Samuel Shropshire, and Jimmy Shropshire; as well as Sanford Rakes, father of her daughters.

She is survived by her daughters, Linda Walker and Kathy Frazier; grandchildren April Powell and Tanya Coleman; great-grandchildren Ashley Jacobs, Jeremiah Powell, Aaron Pruitt, Joshua Hallman, Jacob Powell. Tyler Coleman, and Carson Coleman; Siblings; Gary Shropshire, Helen Young, Barbara Minter, and Betty Bailey; along with numerous relatives, friends, and her church family.

There will be a private family celebration of life.
