Reverend Frank Delano Dunn, 85, of Reidsville passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at his residence.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 20, 2020 at 2:00pm at Charity Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens in Reidsville with military rites performed by the Rockingham County Veterans Honor Guard.
Reverend Frank was born in Eden on January, 8, 1935 the son of Luther Ernest Dunn and Tinnie Ratliff Dunn, both deceased. He was an insurance salesman his entire career as well as a pastor. Frank was the founder and first pastor of Charity Baptist Church. He loved studying the word of God. He was dedicated to his family and his church family. He was always right there when anyone called with a need. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Frank will certainly be missed by all that knew him. He was a veteran of the United States Navy.
He is survived by his daughters, Angel Somers and husband Michael of Reidsville, Lynn Fain and husband, Mark of Reidsville and Colletta Smith and Randy of Stoneville; his brothers, George Dunn of Madison, Mike Dunn of Greensboro and Leroy Dunn of Eden; his sisters, Magdalene Hopkins and husband, Fred of Stoneville and Teresa Archibald of Eden; grandchildren, Aaron Griffin, Tanner Somers, Tracy Burroughs, Bradley Thornton, Dylan Jobe, Josh Fain and Chris Hamilton; great-grandchildren, Alissa Hamilton, Joseph Hamilton, Gray Hamilton, Kenny Grace Light, Harrison Thornton, and Karter Light.
In addition to his parents, Reverend Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Inman Dunn; his brother, Pete Dunn; and his sisters, Louise Gatewood, Judy Thomas and Betty Jo Nelson.
A visitation will be held on Sunday evening, July 19, 2020 from 6 until 8pm at Charity Baptist Church. Reverend Frank will be taken to the church at 5:30pm on Sunday. The family has chosen not to meet at any residence.
