Frank was born in Leaksville on December 29, 1932, a son of William Ramey Martin and Rosa Vestal Martin, both deceased. In addition to his parents, Frank was predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Loretta Martin; his brother, John Ray Martin and his half siblings: Lois Wimbish, Gladys Hale, Fairy Cox, Floyd Martin and Olene Martin.
Frank is survived by his children, Frankie Martin; Sybil Sellers and husband Mark Sellers; his sister, Ardell Webb and husband Jerry Webb; his half-brother, Clyde Martin; and his grandchildren, Jonathan Sellers and Rebecca Sellers.
Frank was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served our country during the Korean War. He was a retired, self-employed carpenter and he earned the respect of friends and community for his honesty and great work ethic. Frank was an avid hunter and enjoyed every hunting season until the age of 90.
Proverbs 22:1 states: "A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favor rather than silver and gold." Frank was blessed with a good long life and his life was a true testament of this scripture. He believed in Jesus and it was evident in his life. Frank was faithful to live the life he was given with exceptional integrity and great character. He was kind and gentle and a man of few, but always important words. He loved his family wholeheartedly. Frank had a subtle sense of humor that was often followed by his endearing little grin. Our lives were truly blessed by the opportunity to know him and to be loved by him.
Frank Martin was a wonderful husband, daddy, father-in-law, papa, son, brother, and friend and all those who knew him will miss him dearly.
