Obituary

Gary Allen Manis, 74, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, March 1, 2025, just days after his birthday.

A proud veteran, Gary served his country with distinction in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper with the elite 82nd Airborne Division. His service included deployment during Operation Desert Storm. Following his military career, Gary took to the open road as a long-haul truck driver until his retirement, allowing him to experience the vast beauty of our country.

A lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan, Gary loved watching football, professional and college alike. He rooted for Marshall's Thundering Herd every time they played. He enjoyed a good home-cooked meal and had quite a sweet tooth.

He is proceeded in death by his beloved wife, both parents, and his two brothers. He is survived by two daughters, three sisters, and three grandchildren.

His family will honor his life privately and ask that you say a prayer for his soul as it heals from this life. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to your local VA or a drug/alcohol rehabilitation service in your neighborhood.

Boone & Cooke, Inc. Funeral Home & Crematory is serving the family.
