George Donald "Duck" Largen, 83, of Eden passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at his residence.

A funeral service will be held at 2 pm Sunday, March 3, 2024, at Boone & Cooke Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will follow in Providence Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at the funeral home and other times at the residence.

Duck was born in Ridgeway, Virginia on June 6, 1040, a son of Bert Vincent Largen and Daisy Morrison Largen, both deceased.  He retired from Fieldcrest Mills. He was a US Army veteran.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, Doris Ann Jeffries, Leonard Largen, and Richard Largen.

Duck is survived by his companion of 38 years, Brenda Hubbard of Eden; his best friend, Kimberly Anderson; his nieces, Jennifer Thompson and husband Brad on California, Missy Walters of Kentucky, and Carol Sue and husband Steve of Kentucky; and his nephew, Donnie Largen of Stoneville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to a local veteran's charity of the donor's choice.
