Gladys Emerson Gantt passed away on May 11, 2026, at the Gibson House at the age of 94.
There will be a graveside service at 12 pm on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at Davis Cemetery (410 Martinwood Road in Eden).
Gladys was born on November 9, 1931, to Arthur Emerson and Alma Davis, both deceased. She retired from Fieldcrest where she previously worked as an Inspector. Gladys was a member of the First Church of The Living God in Eden. Although she was unable to attend church, she was a faithful listener to Christian TV and radio. She loved the Lord and her family fiercely.
In addition to her parents, Gladys was predeceased by her husband, Billy Lonnie Gantt; her daughter, Carolyn Presnell; her son-in-law, Roy Slaughter Jr; her sister, Laura Ann Church; and her great granddaughter, Kayla Carter.
Gladys is survived by her children, Lonnie Gantt (Fonda) of Eden, Debra Kim Slaughter of Ridgeway Va, and Robin Hill (Dan) of Lexington; her sister, Doris Carrington of Eden; her grandchildren, Cameron Smith (Erin), Andrew Crutchfield (Diana), Dawn Dickey (Lee), Bridgett Snody (Frankie), Jennifer Snody (Randy) and Toby Presnell; and her great grandchildren, Travis Snody, Austyn Snody, Brett Dickey, Adam Dickey, Emily Snody, Madalynn Snody, Jacob Snody, Luke Snody, Benjamin Snody, and Nathaniel Snody.
