Gloria Jean Dawson, 82, of Eden, passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at Authoricare Hospice Home in Burlington.

A service of remembrance will be held at 3 pm Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at Boone & Cooke Funeral Home Chapel.  The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 pm before the service at the funeral home.

Gloria was born in Fries, Virginia on August 29, 1942, a daughter of Clarence Edward Dean and Velma Bond Dean, both deceased.  She enjoyed line dancing.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Larry Grey Dawson; her grandson, Travis Grey Clark; and her sisters, Faye Redd and Linda Wilson.

Gloria is survived by her daughter, Lynette Clark of Eden; her grandson, Chad Reid Clark (Kate) of Wilmington; her brother, James Edward Dean of Virginia; her great grandchildren, Levi Grey Clark, Camden Reid Clark, Addison Grace Clark and Lincoln Marshall Clark; and her beloved bird "Baby".
