Grady Colin Hubbard

  Grady Colin Hubbard, 87, of Stoneville passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at the Eden Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.

    A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 20, 2026, at 2pm at Boone and Cooke Funeral Home Chapel. A private burial will follow in Irving Family Cemetery.

 Grady was born in Rockingham County on June 19,1938 a son of Cora Dix Irving Hubbard (deceased.)

   He retired from American Tobacco Company. He was well known as Santa and Papa Smurf for many years. Grady was a very spiritual man. He was a member of Reality Church in Stoneville. He was married to his loving wife for 57 years and was a magnificent papa to his grandson and two great granddaughters.

   Grady is survived by his wife, Linda Nelson Hubbard of the home; his brother, Robert “Irving” Hubbard and wife, Faye of Reidsville; his grandson, Brent Hopper and wife, Jaime of Eden and his great granddaughters, Emily Grace Hopper and Taylor McKenzie Hopper.

 In addition to his mother, he was predeceased by his daughter, Theresa Hubbard.

The family will receive friends from I until 2pm, 1 hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.
