Henry Clerf Belcher, 96, of Mayodan passed away on Friday, April 30, 2021 at Gibson House of Rockingham County.

A graveside service will be held at 11 am Monday, May 3, 2021 at Woodlawn Cemetery.  The family will receive friends after the service at the graveside and other times at the home of Valerie Cruise, 276 Shady Grove Road in Eden.

Henry was born in Draper on April 21, 1925, a son of Henry Corbin Belcher and Flossie Robertson Belcher, both deceased.  He was a member of Amazing Grace Baptist Church.  He was a godly man, loving father, grandfather and great grandfather.  He loved his family as well as his church family and his family at North Pointe Assisted Living.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Belcher; his son, Bryan Belcher; and his siblings, Gordon and Dorothy.

Henry is survived by his daughter, Valerie Cruise and husband Jerry; his grandchildren, John Cruise and wife J.J., Leslie Cardwell and husband Josh and Susan Cruise; and his great grandchildren, Jaime Cruise, Hayden Cardwell, Mady Cardwell and Riley Cardwell.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Amazing Grace Baptist Church Building Fund, 4530 NC 135, Stoneville, NC 27048 or to the Activities Fund at North Pointe, 6970 NC 135, Mayodan, NC 27027.

The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of North Pointe for their excellent care of Henry, especially his roommate, Eddie Amos, who always looked out for him.  They would also like to thank the staff of Annie Penn Hospital for their compassion and care.
