Henry Mortimer Oakes, Jr., 77, of Danville, VA passed away on Monday, June 7, 2025, at Riverside Health and Rehab.

Henry was born in Florence, SC on January 30, 1948, the son of Henry Mortimer Oakes, Sr. and Marion Munn Oakes, both deceased. He was a Navy Veteran and retired from the Merchant Marines.

He is survived by his nephew, Mark Ligon and wife, Mary Ann and his niece, Susan Boulware.

In addition to his parents, Henry is preceded in death by his sisters, Helen Oakes Ligon and Margaret Oakes Ligon.
