Janice Diane Sands, 72, of Ridgeway, VA passed away on Thursday evening, August 5, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family.

A funeral service will be held at 2 pm Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at Boone & Cooke, Inc. Funeral Home Chapel, 7671 NC 770, Eden, NC, followed by a small graveside service at Ridge-View Memorial Gardens, 1658 NC 135, Eden, NC.  The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 pm, Tuesday, at the funeral home before the service and other times at the residence.

Janice was born in Greensboro on September 4, 1948, daughter of Everette Lee Brewer and Iris Watson Hart, both deceased.  She was self-employed and loved her job.  She also enjoyed shopping, especially at flea markets.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James "Jim" Walter Sands; and her brother, Butch Brewer.

Janice is survived by her children, Angela Hoppe (Willie), Edward Bolen (Bobbi) and Otis Bolen, Jr.; her nephew/sidekick, Frankie Sands; her siblings, Terri Martin (Forrest) and Bobby Hart (Lori); her grandchildren, Nicholas (Brian), Adam (Becca), Travis, Tyler, Aleecia (Scooter), Maegan (Stephen), Jessica (Matt) and Hannah; and her great grandchildren, Dakota, Taylor, Emerson, Ella, Bella, Brayden and Brinnley.
