Janie Marshall Eanes, 90, of Eden passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at UNC Rockingham Healthcare Nursing Center.

A graveside service will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2 pm prior to the service at the cemetery.

Janie was born in Stokes County, a daughter of Arthur Marshall and Vernice Pyrtle Rakestraw, both deceased. She retired from Fieldcrest Mills and owned Flowers by Janie. She was a charter member of Pleasant View Baptist Church serving as a Sunday school teacher and the church treasurer. Janie will be greatly missed by her grandchildren and her great grandchildren who loved her so dearly.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband James “Jimmy” Eanes; and her sister, Barbara Marshall Janney.

Janie is survived by her children, Jeff Eanes and Janet Ellington, both of Eden; her daughter-in-law, Teresa Eanes of Reidsville; her grandchildren, Joshua Eanes (Andrea) and Ben Eanes (Lauren) and her great grandchildren, Harrison, Hannah, Anderson, Charles, Elizabeth, Nora and Liam.
