Jerry Franklin Somers, 79 of Ridgeway, VA, loving husband and father, passed away early Monday morning, May 30, 2022.   Jerry was born April 11, 1943 in Danville, VA to the late Edgar William Somers and Lois Richmond Somers.  He graduated from Morehead High School, class of 1961.   After serving in the US Navy for four years, he worked in textile management for 30 years.

Jerry was a member and deacon at Dan River Primitive Baptist Church.  He was known for his kind spirit, interesting stories, love for his grandchildren, and respect for his fellow man.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 59 years, Patricia Wood Somers, his son Tim (Kate), his grandchildren, Noah, Ian and Elizabeth, his sister Susan Powell (Ben), and brother-in-law Keith Wood (Betty).

There will be a memorial service for Jerry, to be announced at a later date.
