Jesse Lee Mills, III, 76, of Madison passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2023.

A time of celebrating his life will be held from 1 until 3 pm on Sunday, October 29, 2023 at his office, 107 E. Academy Street in Madison.  The family asks that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Hospice of Rockingham County, PO Box 281, Wentworth, NC 27375 or to the American Cancer Society.

Lee was born on December 14, 1946, the son of Jesse Lee Mills, Jr., and Ann Peay Mills, both deceased.  He was an insurance agent, firefighter, EMT, lifeguard and instructor.  He was the swim coach for Rockingham and McMichael High Schools.  He was also a stockbroker for Raymond James, the owner of Leigh Mills Clothing, owner of Baskin Robbins and the owner of a motorcycle dealership.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie Mills of the home; his children, Jesse Lee Mills, IV of Madison, Mac Mills and wife Brittany of Tennessee and Leigh-Taylor Mills of Greensboro; and his sister, Sally Milks and husband Cig of Madison.
