Jessie Wilson Smothers, 43, of Eden passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2024.

A service of remembrance will be held on 12:30 pm Saturday, July 27, 2024 at Boone & Cooke Funeral Home Chapel.  The family will receive friends from 11:30 until 12:30 before the service at the funeral home and other times at 1821 Maryland Avenue in Eden.

Jessie was a beloved son of Kathy Shelton.  He was full of life.  He enjoyed working at Short Sugars, NASCAR racing and tanning.  He would do anything for anybody.  He loved his family very much. They were proud of him and how he had changed his life around. He was so happy.  He had big plans, but God had better ones.

He is survived by his mother, Kathy Shelton; his brother, Nathan Smothers, Jr.; his special uncle and aunt, Benny and Cindy Parrish; his uncle Michael (Robin) Parrish, his aunt, Darnell (Fred) Knox; and his special cousins, Michelle Parrish, Victoria Wilson and Tiffany Parrish.

He was preceded in death by his father, Nathan Smothers, Sr., his grandparents, Louise Parrish Handy, Charlie Wilson Parrish, and Doris and Jack Smothers.
