Bethany "Jill" Grogan Slaughter, 72, of Eden passed away early Monday morning, March 31, 2025, at Moses Cone Hospital.

A celebration of life service will be held at 12 pm Saturday, April 5, 2025 at Boone & Cooke Funeral Home Chapel.  A visitation will be held from 6 until 8 pm on Friday and other times at 1102 Lindsey Street in Reidsville.

Jill was born in Rockingham County on November 5, 1952, the daughter of John Hershall Grogan and Josephine Jones Grogan, both deceased.  She was one of a kind with a free spirit.  She volunteered with the Rescue Squad.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Roy "Gene" Slaughter, her son, Jimmy Lee Slaughter and her brother, Randy Grogan.

Jill is survived by her children, Tracy Slaughter Ellison (Mike) of Reidsville, and Michael Shane Slaughter of Eden; her sisters, Crystal Hawkins (Hawk) of Georgia and Joann Caravito (Vito) of Ohio; her grandchildren, Joanna "Pearly" Corum (Ryan), and Deanna "Squirrelly" Ellison (Mike); her great grandchildren, Ayden Dix, Houston Dix, Gracie Dix, Ashton Gilley, Kyler Black, Myles Branson, Makenzie Corum, Ann-Marie Corum, Ryan Taylor Corum, Jr. and Ryker Corum; and her caregiver and best friend, Linda Ramsey; and her best friends, Virginia Cochran and Pamela Mabe.
