Jimmy William Jones, 77, of Eden passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2023, peacefully at his home under Hospice care.

An informal gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, starting at 12 noon at the residence.

Jimmy was born in Leaksville on November 5, 1946, a son of Myrtle and Henry Jones, both deceased.  He served in the US Navy Seabee's from 1966 to 1968. He graduated from Morehead High School and had numerous degrees and certificates. He was a retired machinist and electrical mechanic.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Mozelle Stone; and his brothers-in-law, Frank Hopkins, and Frank Eanes.

Jimmy is survived by his wife, Dorothy Ann Jones; his sons, Jimmy William Jones, Jr. and Brian Lee Jones; his daughter-in-law, Shelia Jones; his grandchildren, Bridgette Jones, Gabriel Jones, Daniel Jones, Caprisha Berube and Joey Berube; and his siblings, Toni Jones, Linda Walker and husband Bobby, Bobby Jones and wife Jan, Mack Jones and wife Judy, Bud Jones and wife Lois, Peggy Hopkins, Pat Eanes and Henrietta Hale and husband Ira "Spud".

Special thanks is extended to Dr. Terry Daniel and his staff for their compassionate care of Jimmy during his illness.
