John Walter Harden, Jr., 78, of Reidsville, passed away Thursday morning, January 4, 2024, at his residence.

To honor his wishes, there will be no services.

John was born in Wytheville, Virginia on June 10, 1945, a son of John Walter Harden, Sr. and Bonnie Lucille Willard Harden, both deceased.  He worked in construction as a carpenter.  He was also an artistic painter.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Roma Lee Harden Clark; his brother, Frank Mullins; and his nephews, Bryan Keith Clark and Timothy Michael Clark.

John is survived by his wife, Esther Engle Harden; his daughter, Jennifer Janell O'Conner; his sons, Jackson Trace O'Conner and James Walter Harden; his granddaughters, Brianda Bailey O'Conner and Marley McKenna O'Conner; his sister, Kymberly Harden Skaggs (David Skaggs); His brother, Ray Mullins; nieces, Deanna Clark Rose, Teresa Griffith-Wilson (Bill), Bayleigh Skaggs (Alhaji Bah); and his nephews, Gary Clark (Amanda Clark), Justin Skaggs (Ashleigh Clark, Blaine Skaggs (Brittany Bush).
