Johnny James Barber, 77, of Ruffin passed away on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at his home.

A graveside service will be held at 2 pm Saturday, November 21, 2020 at Mayfield Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Ronnie Warner officiating.

Johnny was born in Rockingham County on March 18, 1943, a son of Marion "Bill" Jennings Barber and Elizabeth Cantrell Barber, both deceased.   He was retired from Vulcan Materials with 38 years of service.  He was a beloved husband, father and brother.  Everyone loved his unique laugh.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard "Bobby" Jennings Barber; his half-brother, W.L. Loftis and his half-sister, Vickie Loftis.

Johnny is survived by his wife Brenda Barber of the home; his children, Melissa Vernon and husband Phillip of Reidsville and Todd Barber of Ruffin; his brother, Otha Barber and wife Helen of Danville, VA; and his half-sisters, Brenda and Joyce Loftis, both of Reidsville.
