Johnny Buck Wilmouth, 96, of Eden passed away Thursday morning, December 14, 2023 at his residence.

A graveside service will be held at 1 pm Saturday, December 16, 2023 at Dan View Cemetery.  There will be no formal visitation.  Mr. Wilmouth will lie in state until 12 pm Saturday at Boone & Cooke Funeral Home if anyone would like to pay their respects.

Johnny was born in Halifax County, NC on December 4, 1927, a son of Isaac C. Wilmouth and Williebel Moorefield Wilmouth, both deceased.  He was a retired truck driver.  He enjoyed racing, fishing and horse races.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Madie T. Wilmouth; his son, Johnny Mack Wilmouth; his four brothers and nine sisters.

Johnny is survived by his sisters, Bessie Shumate of Eden, Helen Walls of Richmond; his two grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
