Joseph Mark "Joe" Overman, 49, of Mayodan, passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at his home.

To honor his wishes, there will not be any services.

Joe was born in Asheboro on September 5, 1970, a son of James Dexter Overman and Betty Robbins Overman, both deceased.  He was a trucking manager with Watkins Site Development.  He was a great husband, loving father, an avid hunter and loved fast cars.  He loved his family with everything in him.  He was an honest man and family protector.

He is survived by his wife, Sheri Shelton Overman of the home; his children, Layla Overman of the home, Michael Holland of Madison, Emerald Shelton of Stoneville; his sister, Susan Edmonds and husband Gary of Asheboro; his brother, Larry Freeman and wife Kimberly of Asheboro; his "Mom", Debra Manuel; his grandchildren, Jayden Shelton, Davina Shelton, Eli Freeman, Liam Holland; his nephew, Brandon Edmonds and wife Aleah; his niece, Lauren Edmonds; his closest family friends, Sam and Angie Hunter and Vicky Whittington.
