Joseph Wade "Joe" Powell, 58 of Eden passed away on Monday, December 28, 2020 after a lengthy illness.

A service of remembrance will be held at 11 am Friday, January 1, 2021 at Boone & Cooke, Inc. Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Angie Toth officiating.  The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 am before the service at the funeral home and other times at the residence.

Joe was born in Eden on April 18, 1962, a son of Talmadge Powell and the late Toye Bolick Powell.  He attended Morehead High School.  He was married to Robin Farmer on September 18, 1982.  They have been married for 38 years.

Joe worked for the NC Dept. of Transportation until he went on disability in 2014.  He enjoyed telling jokes, telling funny stories and making people laugh.  He loved his family so much and all family activities and gatherings.  He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

Joe is survived by his wife, Robin Powell; his children, Reanna Powell, Brandon Powell, Marisa Fain; his granddaughter, Kelsi Powell, his father Talmadge Powell; his brother, Dennis Powell and his sister, Wanda Overton.
