Sadly, the family of Judith Lee Higgs announces her passing on November 5, 2023.

A graveside service will be 1:00 PM Thursday, November 9, 2023, at Woodmont United Methodist Church in Reidsville with Rev. Christi Taylor officiating. Inurnment will follow in the church columbarium.

Judy was born January 8, 1945, to the late Boyd Cabell Higgs and Helen Warren Skinner. She was reared by her maternal grandparents, Stafford and Callie Warren. She is survived by her brother, Ron Higgs of Midlothian, VA; sister, Faye Wood of Eden.

A lifelong resident of Eden, Judy was a graduate of Morehead High School class of 1963. She retired from Dupont. Judy had many interests and skills from gardening to woodworking. She took great pride in her Norman Drive home with the lawn bursting in bloom from Spring to Fall. She enjoyed travel seeing Europe, the Middle East, and the Eastern United States. Her favorite destination was the beach. She was an avid fan of UNC-Chapel Hill Basketball, and the PGA Tour. Reared in the Church of the Brethren and in adult years active in the Methodist Church, Judy was deeply spiritual. She will be remembered for her robust laugh, her caring for others, her tenacity and fierce independence. Sadly, in the last years, dementia robbed her of dignity and the enjoyment of her lifetime efforts.
