Obituary

Judith "Judi" Thompson Fretz passed away peacefully at home Sunday Morning, July 20, 2025, holding her husband's hand.

Judi was born September 19, 1946, in Norristown, PA. to the late Lewis William Thompson Jr. and Alice Hildebidle Thompson. She was a 1964 graduate of Collegeville-Trappe High School.

After nursing school, Judi was recruited to work with Abington Memorial Hospital for several years before finding her specialty of working in a private practice in Bedminster, Bucks County, PA where she remained for the majority of her career. She so loved her family and was very involved in raising her grandchildren.  As you can imagine they were the highlight of her life.

Judi was a long-time member of St. Anne's Church in Abington, PA where she enjoyed singing in the choir. She enjoyed being with any choir and singing in the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C. was a special delight. Later in life she volunteered in the E.R. at a Hospital, again giving and caring for other people.

Judi was predeceased by her brother, William Lewis Thompson III.

Judi is survived by her husband, Donald Fretz; her children, Erich Smith (Amy) of St. Johns, FL, Valerie Rothman (Marc) of San Diego, CA; her stepchildren, Donald Fretz Jr, of Sellersville, PA and Brian Izzo (Nicki) of Liberty, NC; her sister, Diane Riley (Bill) of Coatesville, PA; her sister-in-law, Liz Thompson of Yuma, CO; and her grandchildren, Reeve, Kate, Luke, Gracyn, Joseph and Holly.

A memorial service will be held 11 am, Friday, September 26, 2025, at R. L. Williams Funeral Home in Skippack, PA. Inurnment will follow in Wentz's United Church of Christ Cemetery in Lansdale, PA.
