Karen Rigney Johnson, 76, of Eden passed away on Friday, May 9, 2025, at Novant Health Hospital in Winston Salem.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at 2pm at Dan View Cemetery in Eden.

Karen was born in Eden on April 11, 1949, a daughter of James Rigney and Louise Wimbush Rigney, both deceased. She was the co-owner and operator of Draper Lumber along with her husband, David.

Karen is survived by her husband, David Johnson of the home; her grandson, Levi Cooper; her brother-in-law, Charles Johnson and wife, Rhonda; her sister-in-law, Wanda Johnson; her nieces, Angie Fulp, Bobbie Lynn Fulp, Teresa Adkins, Lisa Goldsworthy, Missy Greene and Jennifer Johnson; nephews, Brian Fulp, Mike Fulp, Greg Fulp, Steve Haraway, Tanner Johnson and wife, Jenna, Greg Johnson and Benjamin Rigney, Jr.; her great nieces, Evelyn Johnson and Heather Goldsworthy; her great nephews, Hunter Fulp, Justin Patterson, Hayden Fulp, George "Zack" Chronister, Robert Boyd and Ryker Boyd; great-great nephew, Waylon Fulp; special great-great niece, Kaylynn Fulp; special friend, Kevin Travis, Palin Gardner and Shane Cooper and caregivers, Alice Pettigrew and Toni Laprad.

In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her siblings, June Haraway, Berta Card, Naomi Kizer, Jeanette Fulp, Buck Rigney, Billy Rigney, Kim Rigney and Diane Rigney; her brother-in-law, Edward Johnson, her niece, Tonya Patterson and her nephew Lenny Kizer.
